How to close (liquidate) a sole proprietorship?

Liquidation of an individual entrepreneur: how to close an individual entrepreneur correctly?
Liquidation of an individual entrepreneur is a formal termination of entrepreneurial activity, which must be legally formalized in order to avoid fines and unpleasant surprises in the future.

The reasons for closure can be different. Someone stops working as an entrepreneur due to lack of profit, others change their field of activity, and someone goes abroad or goes to work for hire. In any case, if you are no longer conducting business, leaving the individual entrepreneur open is not the best idea.

The procedure for liquidating an individual entrepreneur consists of several steps:

First, you need to submit an application for termination of activity to the state registrar. This can be done both in person and online through the "Diya" portal. After that, information about the termination of activity will appear in the Unified State Register.

The second important stage is the closure of tax liabilities. Even if the individual entrepreneur is no longer operating, you may still have unfulfilled obligations to the state. You need to submit a liquidation report and pay all taxes and social security contributions for the last period of work.

Also, do not forget to close bank accounts if they were opened for entrepreneurial activity. Although this is not a mandatory requirement, it allows you to avoid unnecessary questions in the future.

The final stage is obtaining a certificate of absence of debts to the tax office. This is an important point, because even after the closure of the individual entrepreneur, the tax office may schedule an inspection and charge unpaid contributions or fines.

If you want the procedure for closing the individual entrepreneur to go smoothly, it is better not to delay closing the reporting and check all financial issues before submitting the application.
